Calling All Recent TEC Graduates!

Hello TEC Community!

A reminder to our TEC family that youth are welcome to continue serving on TEC weekends for one year after graduating from high school! We love having our recent graduates remain involved as they continue to grow in faith, leadership, and service while serving the weekenders.

If you graduated this spring, we'd love to have you join us on an upcoming weekend! The team for our the July TEC has already been finalized, but we encourage you to apply for our October weekend.

As we prepare for another TEC weekend, please continue inviting others to experience TEC and keep our weekenders, team members, and community in your prayers. Your encouragement, support, and willingness to serve help make TEC a life changing experience for so many.

We can't wait to see how God continues to work through our TEC family. We hope to see you on a future weekend!

New Team Age Guidelines

Hello TEC Family!

We hope you are doing well. We are reaching out to you with new information regarding team age guidelines. Starting this school year, all recently graduated seniors will be able to continue working TEC weekends for one year following their graduation year. This is going into effect immediately, and currently impacts the high school graduating class of 2024. Our goal is to continue to build our community and reach more people as weekend retreats pass. Please plan to apply for the January TEC, as the upcoming TEC team list has been finalized for the October TEC weekend.

As we approach the next TEC weekend, please continue to spread the word about your TEC experience and the impact it has had on you! We want to share the love and light that we have experienced at previous TECs with new community members. As always, please keep the upcoming TEC weekend in your prayers. We are praying for more weekenders, in addition to a smooth and meaningful weekend for all involved.

Sending lots of love and hugs to the TEC community both near and far!

New Update: Adult Team Age Requirements

Hello TEC Community!

Change is an inevitable part of growth, and as a community, it’s crucial for us to adapt to better meet the needs of our community. Recently, we’ve taken a close look at the age requirements for adult team members participating in our TEC retreats. We are pleased to share some revisions to these guidelines, demonstrating our dedication to nurturing the faith of young adults in our community, while also upholding the importance of adult leaders’ ability to provide guidance and support to the youth on the team.

Previously, the age requirement for adults on team was set at 23 years old. However, after careful consideration and discussions on TEC Council, we’ve decided to adjust this criteria to allow for more young adults to work future TECs.

Effective immediately, we are updating the age requirement for adult volunteers participating on team. Since the TEC year follows the traditional high school calendar year, the October TEC is the first of each year. Using that as a guide, moving forward adult volunteers must be 22 years old by the start of the October TEC weekend in each calendar year. For most, this would mean 4 Falls will have passed since your high school graduation. If an adult volunteer applies for the January, April, or July TEC weekends, they must have turned 22 by the start of the previous year’s October TEC.

By embracing this updated age requirement, we aim to cultivate a larger group of adults that are active in the community, while also allowing for time to mature and be ready to work on team as an adult.

We understand that change can sometimes be met with questions or concerns, and we want to assure you that this decision was made thoughtfully and with the best interests of our community in mind. We believe that by embracing this adjustment, we can continue to build a supportive community that enhances the quality of our weekend experiences for weekenders, youth on team, and adults on team.

We are excited to welcome people back to the community and hope to see more young adults having opportunities to come back and work on team in the near future. If you have any questions, or concerns, don’t be afraid to reach out to TEC Council members for clarifications.

Sending hugs to all of the community, near and far!

TEC Team Updates

Dear TEC Community,

Welcome to our newly created blog! We will be using this to communicate new information and recap any TEC weekend that we experience together.

As we eagerly anticipate the 2024 TEC weekends, we have some exciting updates to share with you regarding the fees and additional perks for future TECs. We believe these changes will not only enhance your experience but also make participating in TEC more affordable for everyone involved.

Fee Adjustment for Team Members:

The TEC council has made a thoughtful decision to adjust the fees for team members by an additional $10 per person. We understand that any change in cost may raise questions, so let us assure you that this adjustment comes with benefits that will make your TEC experience even more memorable.

Inclusions for Team Members:

  • Team Shirts: We are thrilled to announce that team shirts will now be fully covered by TEC! Not only does this promote unity and a sense of belonging, but it also eliminates the need for each participant to spend extra money on their team apparel.
  • Support/Kitchen Aprons: TEC will be providing support and kitchen aprons at no additional cost to team members. This alleviates the financial burden that team members might have faced when purchasing these items individually, in addition to the t-shirt.
  • Wheat Stole Supplies: TEC will cover the costs of wheat stole supplies for team members. This alleviates the financial burden that team members might have faced when purchasing these items individually, in addition to the t-shirt.
  • Table Decorations: TEC council understands the importance of creating a warm and inviting atmosphere during the weekend at each table. To help with this, TEC will reimburse up to $20 per table for ATL table decorations. This allows for creativity and personalization while being mindful of your budget.

In summary, while the team fee is increasing by $10 per person, it’s important to recognize that TEC is absorbing the costs of various items that would have otherwise been paid for individually by team members. When factoring in the savings on shirts, aprons, stole supplies, and the opportunity for reimbursement on table decorations, most team members will find themselves spending less overall.

We believe these changes not only make financial sense but also contribute to a more inclusive and supportive TEC community. If you have any questions or concerns about these updates, please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions.

Warm regards,

TEC Council
