The purpose of this talk is to help the weekenders understand that our Christian witness involves not only the things we say, but our actions as well.

You are given 15 minutes for your talk.

Themes you should include in your talk:

1. Being a Christian is a lifestyle. We communicate our relationship (or lack of relationship) with Jesus Christ by our verbal and non-verbal witness.
2. Talk about the inconsistency between wearing a cross while getting drunk at a party, swearing, etc. Not only "talking the talk, but also walking the walk." Witness through example.
3. Share some moments when, as a Christian, you did things you knew Jesus wouldn't be pleased with. How did you feel?
4. In every situation we face, it may help us to ask, "What would Jesus do?" and follow His example.
5. Talk about how some people view Christians as hypocrites. Why do we give people that impression?
6. Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 11:1, "Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ."
7. Philippians 2:5–11 — Having the mind of Christ:
   1. Christ was humble
   2. Christ was compassionate
   3. Christ gave Himself
   4. Christ emptied Himself
   5. Christ was obedient, even unto death
   Having the mind of Christ is a lifelong goal.
8. 1 John 2:6 — "Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did." To walk today as Christ did, we must obey His teachings and follow His example of complete obedience to God and loving service to people.
9. Other Scriptures: 1 Timothy 4:12, Romans 3:23–24, Romans 4:4–6, and Matthew 5:14–16.
10. It is very important to stress that we do not earn our way into heaven by living a Christ-like lifestyle. Living a life that pleases God in every way is our response to His grace, His great love for us.

Note: Talk 8 deals with servanthood — living out our faith by doing good for others. This talk deals with how our lifestyle should follow that of Jesus Christ.
