<p>The purpose of this talk is to help the weekenders understand that we were created to be in fellowship
    with God and that life for us does not depend on our feelings or actions.</p>

<p>You are given 15 minutes for your talk.</p>

<p><strong>Themes you should include in your talk:</strong></p>

<ol>
    <li>Using the story of the Garden of Eden (Gen. 2:4&ndash;25), talk about the relationship between God and
        Adam and Eve before they sinned.</li>
    <li>Talk about how sin severed the relationship God had with Adam and Eve. What were the consequences of
        their sin?</li>
    <li>Stress that even though they sinned, and God punished them for that sin, God did not stop loving
        them!</li>
    <li>Talk about God's <em>agape love</em> &mdash; unconditional love that offers oneself for the benefit of
        another, love that does not depend on the other person's response.</li>
    <li>God has chosen to love us; He cannot stop loving us no matter how much we may hurt Him.</li>
    <li>How does agape love differ from the love the world has to offer? How do we naturally respond when
        someone hurts us?</li>
    <li>Talk about Jesus Christ &mdash; He came into the world to restore the broken relationship that we had with
        God. His death is the ultimate act of agape love.</li>
    <li>Stress to the weekenders that God's love is always there for us. It is a promise from God's Word
        that we can depend on. And even though other people may stop loving us because we hurt them, God
        will not.</li>
    <li>God's love is based on fact (the Bible), not our feelings.</li>
    <li>Encourage the weekenders to let God love them &mdash; unconditionally!</li>
